Assistant coach Samantha Williams of the Lady Vols basketball team will not continue with the team under new coach Kim Caldwell, as reported by The Ball Out.
Williams, who was brought on board by former coach Kellie Harper in April 2021, following a two-season stint as the coach at Eastern Kentucky, will not be retained. With over two decades of experience as an assistant coach, Williams has notably served at Duke from 2007 to 2011 and Louisville from 2011 to 2019.
During her tenure, Williams played a significant role in recruiting star transfer Rickea Jackson, who led Tennessee in scoring over the past two seasons and is anticipated to be a lottery pick in the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft, an event Williams plans to attend. Additionally, Williams contributed to securing commitments from three recruits since joining the Lady Vols.
