Adam Doueihi, the five-eighth for the Wests Tigers, has confirmed engaging in discussions with Benji Marshall and Shane Richardson regarding his future with the club.

Since joining the Tigers in 2020, Doueihi, who is currently sidelined due to an ACL injury sustained early last season, stands as the second-longest serving player, trailing only behind Alex Twal.

Approaching the end of his contract this season, uncertainty surrounds Doueihi’s future, particularly with the emergence of new halves and the impressive performance of fullback Jahream Bula, prompting speculation about his position in the team lineup.

While Doueihi has been eligible to negotiate with other NRL teams since November 1 last year, there have been no indications or links to other clubs.

Nevertheless, Doueihi has expressed his preference to continue with the Wests Tigers under the guidance of head coach Benji Marshall.

“I’ve initiated discussions with Benji and Richo to gather their insights for the upcoming year,” Doueihi informed The Daily Telegraph.

“As the second longest-serving player at the club, next to Alex Twal, I am keen to remain, but considering the addition of new halves and the team’s strong start to the season, decisions need to be made regarding my role moving forward.

“I have always envisioned myself in the halves. With some physical adjustments and feeling lighter, I may adapt to a bench role later in the season, wherever deemed suitable.”
