A former Tennessee Volunteer who transferred following the 2023 season is said to be changing teams once more.
It seems that a former Tennessee Vol player is once again in the process of finding a new football team. Wesley Walker, previously with Tennessee, made a move to the Louisville program earlier this year. However, according to reports by Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, Walker is now departing from Louisville, marking his departure from the program after just a short stint.
Walker initially announced his departure from the Tennessee program at the end of the regular season after spending two years there. He then opted to transfer to Louisville, making it his third stop in his collegiate football journey. Now, it seems he’ll be on the lookout for his fourth destination.
Walker’s college football journey began when he transferred from Georgia Tech to Tennessee after the 2021 season. He originally committed to Georgia Tech as a three-star safety from Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of the 2019 recruiting class. After redshirting in 2019, he saw action in 20 games over the following two years, recording 54 tackles.
During Tennessee’s successful 11-2 season in 2022, Walker played in all 13 games, starting twice, and notched 36 total tackles along with an interception. His performance took a notable leap forward in 2023, where he started ten games and accumulated 53 tackles, ranking fourth highest on the team.
