Breaking news: The New England Patriots have selected Joe Milton III in the NFL Draft.
The Tennessee Volunteers did not make any selections iwn the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, they had two players chosen on the third day of the draft: running back Jaylen Wright was picked by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round, while quarterback Joe Milton III was selected by the New England Patriots at No. 193.
New England also secured North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick, designating him as their future franchise quarterback. As demonstrated, quarterback stands as the most critical position in football, a fact well understood by the Patriots.
Milton, who started twelve games for Tennessee in 2023, guided them to an 8-4 record during those appearances. He amassed 2,813 passing yards and contributed to 27 total touchdowns while only throwing five interceptions. He becomes the second quarterback to play under head coach Josh Heupel at the University of Tennessee and the second quarterback drafted during Heupel’s tenure at the university.
