UNC Basketball Hubert Davis Devastated as UNC Falls Short in Another Major Transfer Battle against Arkansas.
Former Tennessee center Jonas Aidoo opted for Arkansas over UNC basketball and other programs.
Despite securing their first transfer commitment from Belmont’s veteran wing Cade Tyson, UNC’s search for frontcourt reinforcements persists.
According to CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander, Aidoo, a sought-after target for UNC, chose to spend his final college season under former Kentucky coach John Calipari at Arkansas. Aidoo, an established All-SEC player, averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game as a junior.
More big portal news, pun intended: Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo has committed to John Calipari and Arkansas, sources tell @CBSSports. Aidoo was one of the best defensive bigs in the country last season and averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

Initially, Arkansas, UNC, Baylor, and Alabama were the frontrunners in Aidoo’s transfer pursuit after he entered the portal on April 11. Despite reports of Aidoo planning a visit to Chapel Hill, he ultimately didn’t follow through.
With Aidoo’s decision, UNC’s focus now shifts to Clifford Omoruyi from Rutgers, who is set to visit the Tar Heels this week as their potential final primary target for the center position.
