Jalen Brunson enters the ranks of basketball greats alongside Michael Jordan and LeBron James on a notable list of achievements.

Jalen Brunson’s performance in the 2024 NBA Playoffs has been outstanding, earning him a place alongside basketball legends Michael Jordan and LeBron James on historic lists. Following Game 6 between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, Brunson became only the third player in NBA history to achieve four consecutive playoff games with 35+ points and 5+ assists in a single postseason. Prior to Brunson, this feat was accomplished only by LeBron James in 2009 and Michael Jordan in both 1989 and 1990.

Moreover, Brunson’s impressive display continued as he scored 41 points in Game 6, making him just the seventh player in NBA history to achieve three consecutive playoff games with 40+ points. This elite group includes Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bernard King, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and Jamal Murray.

While Brunson’s performance doesn’t draw direct comparisons to the likes of Michael Jordan or LeBron James, his current achievements are undeniably special. Throughout the 2024 playoffs, Brunson has maintained remarkable averages of 35.5 points, 9.0 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, shooting 43% from the field, 30% from three-point range, and 78% from the free-throw line. Notably, he has been logging an impressive 43.8 minutes per game across six games, all without his usual partner, Julius Randle.

Having advanced past Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, Brunson now faces a different challenge with the Indiana Pacers in the next round. While some may view this matchup as potentially easier than facing the 76ers, it promises to be a faster-paced contest.
