“It’s just bad football!” – Steelers QB Justin Fields Slammed by Chicago Bears Coach.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback faced harsh criticism from a former coach.
PITTSBURGH — The Steelers acquired Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears for a modest price, yet they remain hopeful he can surpass his past performance in the NFL.
However, not everyone shares this optimism. One of his former coaches, in an interview with Tyler Dunne of Go Long TD, was quite critical of Fields’s abilities, calling his play “bad football.”
“When you watch him, watch his eyes. He tries to see the whole field but ends up seeing nothing. His eyes are all over the place, and it’s just really hard to watch,” the unnamed coach stated.
Fields holds a 10-28 record as a starter and has experienced three offensive coordinators and two head coaches over three seasons. The Bears moved on by selecting Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, trading Fields to Pittsburgh for a conditional sixth-round pick in 2025.
Fields is set to back up Russell Wilson in 2024, using the time to develop his skills under the guidance of a Super Bowl champion and multiple-time Pro Bowler. The Steelers have high hopes for Fields, despite the lack of confidence from his former coach.
