According to a report from ESPN, the Lakers are planning to contact multiple candidates for their vacant head coaching position in the coming days.
The team’s first priority is to speak with assistant coaches and former head coaches who they are less familiar with.
It’s mentioned in the report that Rob Pelinka, the Lakers’ VP of Basketball Operations and general manager, has been gathering information on various potential candidates, including ESPN analyst JJ Redick.
Among the initial interviewees are said to be Chris Quinn from the Miami Heat and James Borrego from the New Orleans Pelicans.
Earlier this month, the Lakers parted ways with Darvin Ham, who had been the head coach for two seasons, during which the team reached the Western Conference finals last year.
