WNBA fans directed criticism towards Caitlin Clark following the Indiana Fever’s defeat to A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces.

A’ja Wilson’s impressive performance, with 29 points and 15 rebounds, propelled the Las Vegas Aces to a commanding 99-80 victory over the Indiana Fever at home on Saturday.

Backing Wilson, Jackie Young contributed 22 points, while Kelsey Plum added 20 for the Aces, who improved to 3-1. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark managed eight points on 2-of-8 shooting along with seven assists, five rebounds, and six turnovers for the 1-6 Fever. Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 16 points.

Indiana faced a tough schedule early on, including matchups against the undefeated Connecticut Sun and last season’s finalists, the New York Liberty. However, Saturday’s game presented an especially challenging test for the Fever against the defending WNBA champions.

As expected, the Fever struggled against the formidable trio of Wilson, Young, and Plum. Despite a strong start with 28 points in the first quarter, Indiana couldn’t maintain momentum on offense, managing only another 28 points over the next two quarters.

Although Clark has been filling the stat sheet impressively in her rookie season, her shooting struggles persist at 37 percent, and turnovers remain an issue, averaging 5.3 per game.
