During EYBL Session 4, 2025 five-star recruit Cameron Boozer discussed his potential schools.

UNC and Duke have often been involved in intriguing crossover events when it comes to recruiting, with stories of recruits having loyalties to one school while being pursued by the other. The latest example involves Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of former Duke star Carlos Boozer, who are both being heavily recruited by UNC’s Hubert Davis for the 2025 class.

Focusing on Cameron Boozer, Zagsblog recently spoke with him after his team, Nightrydas Elite, defeated the Florida Rebels in EYBL play. When asked about UNC, Boozer highlighted the team’s hard play, strong defense, and impressive winning history. He praised Hubert Davis for motivating his players to compete every night, which contributed to the team’s success this year.

Duke is also keen on recruiting Boozer. Reflecting on his father’s alma mater, Cameron acknowledged Duke’s storied basketball program and their consistent deep runs in the tournament, which he finds impressive.

Boozer’s thoughtful insights on both programs show he is seriously considering his options. Despite the common expectation that he might follow in his father’s footsteps, his interest in UNC adds a compelling layer to his recruitment.

Cameron Boozer, a 6’9″ power forward from Columbus High School in Miami, FL, is the top-ranked power forward and the second-best overall player in the country, according to the 247Sports composite. In addition to Duke and UNC, he holds scholarship offers from Miami, Kentucky, Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, and Michigan.

Although there are no signs of when Boozer will announce his commitment, Ball Durham suggests Miami might be the front-runner due to his current residence, their strong NIL program, and Jim Larranaga’s reputation as a top ACC coach. It remains to be seen if Hubert Davis can sway Boozer and his brother, but it promises to be a challenging pursuit.
