Louisville has officially announced the signing of guard Reyne Smith.

Louisville basketball coach Pat Kelsey has welcomed 13 new players to the team’s roster, with Reyne Smith being the first addition officially confirmed by the university on Monday. Smith, who hails from Ulverstone, Australia, joins the Cardinals after playing three seasons at Charleston under Kelsey’s guidance. Known for his sharpshooting abilities, the 6-foot-2 guard has one season of eligibility left.

Kelsey praised Smith’s talent and experience, highlighting his impressive track record at the Division I level and his representation of Australia in international competitions. Smith, who has already started 89 games during his college career, brings stability and a strong work ethic to the Louisville program.

Having committed to Kelsey shortly after the coach’s move to Louisville, Smith expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized the trust Kelsey has placed in him. As the leading scorer for College of Charleston last season, Smith averaged 12.8 points per game and earned recognition as the Most Valuable Player of the CAA Tournament.

With impressive stats including 294 career-made 3-pointers and 1,212 career points, Smith’s addition bolsters Louisville’s lineup, adding depth and scoring prowess. His experience with the Australian National Team further adds to his credentials as a valuable asset for the Cardinals.
