MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team dropped the second game of the series against Ohio State, 7-4, Saturday at Kendrick Family Ballpark. The Mountaineers fall to 11-8 while the Buckeyes improve to 9-8.

Ohio State took an early lead with three runs in the first. Senior settled down on the mound after the shaky opening frame with four scoreless innings to wrap up his day, striking out four.

The Mountaineers tied up the game with three runs in the fourth, first getting a run-scoring groundout from junior  before Chumley blasted a two-run home run, evening the game at three.

WVU took the lead in the fifth as sophomore  came home to score on a wild pitch, but it was short-lived as the Buckeyes scored two in the sixth to re-take the lead before pushing across two more runs in the seventh inning.

The two teams will back on the diamond on Sunday for the rubber game with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
