DALLAS – The Texas Rangers’ impressive triumph over the Houston Astros in the American League Championship Series was a topic of conversation at the morning skate on Tuesday… at least in the Stars’ locker room.

The Rangers punched their ticket to the World Series for the first time since 2011 with an 11-4 road victory over the defending champions at Minute Maid Park on Monday.

“I’ve always admired what he did with the teams that he worked with and always enjoyed listening to him speak in his press conferences,” said DeBoer. “He reminds me of Tommy Lasorda or one of those managers in the era I grew up in where he has that great balance of personality, instilling discipline, and a little bit of old-school still in him, so I’m a big fan.”
