This marks the second consecutive year Arkansas coach John Calipari will face Miami, following Kentucky’s 95-73 victory over the Hurricanes at Rupp Arena in the inaugural challenge. Arkansas previously beat Duke 80-75 at Bud Walton Arena in the ACC/SEC Challenge before missing the NCAA Tournament. The only other encounter between Arkansas and Miami was in the first round of the 2000 NCAA Tournament, which Miami won 75-71.

Last year’s event ended in a 7-7 tie between the ACC and SEC. Due to conference realignment, there will now be eight games, ensuring all SEC teams participate. New ACC members Stanford and SMU were not included because of an uneven number of teams in the conferences.

Notable matchups include Alabama at North Carolina and Auburn at Duke. SEC newcomers Oklahoma and Texas will play against Georgia Tech and North Carolina State, respectively, while ACC newcomer California will face Missouri.
