The Oklahoma Sooners took the world by surprise at last year’s softball Women’s College World Series. The team is in the same position this year, thanks to their bold faith and talent on the field.
Third baseman Alyssa Brito, who was part of the championship team the year prior, “is hitting .406 with 18 home runs and 59 RBIs while leading the team in hits (71), OPS (1.324) and slugging percentage (.834). Through her time at OU, Brito to Sports Spectrum in 2023, her “trust in God has grown so much more, and I feel like that’s shaped me as a person more now, knowing that I can just be who I am on the field and off the field.”
“I just feel like getting the opportunity to be different and bring attention to the Kingdom and have conversations about Christ, I think that’s definitely made me feel more confident in my faith,” she
“God, Your timing is good. You have a beautiful and perfect way of writing Your story,” Brito in a post about the baptism. “Thank you for a gentle reminder today, that we rejoice and we PRAISE You, not this world.”
“What is seen as loss in this world God, You ground us in Your truth. Truth that You already won. victory is WON,” she. “Won when You sent Your Son to die for us on the Cross. Paying the ultimate debt and sacrifice for us. Breaking the barrier of sin between Your children and You, Father.”
“We don’t deserve this borrowed breath God, yet today and everyday we thank You for waking us up and filling us with a purpose for Your Kingdom,” the post . “Today there’s a party in Heaven!!!!!”
