Maya Bulger and Brandon Lee Join Newly Established Team in Mississippi State Athletics.
The Mississippi State athletics department announced on Wednesday that Maya Bulger and Brandon Lee have joined the new student-athlete brand services and business development team.
Bulger was appointed assistant AD/NIL administration and partnerships on May 16, a newly established position at the school. Lee was hired on June 14 as the associate AD for student-athlete brand strategy and innovation.
“We are thrilled to have Brandon and Maya on board to help guide our evolving student-athlete brand services and business development unit,” said Mississippi State athletic director Zac Selmon in a press release. “Over the past several months, we have conducted extensive research and planning as the collegiate athletics model shifts toward revenue sharing. While we’ve made significant strides, Brandon and Maya will significantly enhance our mission to maximize NIL opportunities for our student-athletes and position Mississippi State as a national leader in this space. As we move forward, our top priorities remain providing our student-athletes with a world-class experience and equipping them with tools for success in life.”
Bulger and Lee will report to Deputy AD/General Manager Terry Prentice, who oversees all units related to student-athlete success, including brand services and business development. Prentice joined the Bulldogs in September 2023, following roles at Arkansas and Kansas.
Previously, Bulger served as the director of football NIL at Illinois State from July 2023, with similar responsibilities for two years before that. She also worked as an athletics development and special events graduate assistant from July 2020 to May 2022.
In her new role, Bulger will be an NIL resource for MSU student-athletes and coaches across all sports, managing partnerships with Altius Sports Partners, Adidas, Opendorse, and other entities. She will educate brands on NIL opportunities for MSU athletes and develop educational and brand-building events. Additionally, she will liaise with Bulldog Sports Properties and MSU’s creative and licensing teams to facilitate NIL opportunities.
Lee, formerly Missouri’s Assistant AD for NIL, and a former linebacker for Missouri from 2014-18, will oversee strategies for short and long-term business development and revenue opportunities for MSU student-athletes. He will also lead recruiting strategies for all sports and collaborate daily with the Bulldog Initiative, Bulldog Club, and Athletic Business Office.
