Hubert Davis observed a prominent recruiting prospect for UNC basketball at the Peach Jam tournament.

The open evaluation period is underway with AAU tournaments such as the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, a popular event held each summer traditionally over a week. This year, the event has been extended to two weeks, allowing coaches more time to observe potential recruits.

Hubert Davis and his staff from North Carolina were present in North Augusta, South Carolina, for the tournament, focusing on key prospects for their 2025 recruiting class. One standout they targeted was Acaden Lewis, a four-star combo guard, during a notable game between Team Durant and Mac Irvin Fire.

Lewis, who hails from Washington D.C., recently narrowed down his list of college offers to a top 8 that includes North Carolina. He has also scheduled visits to UNC later this year, suggesting a growing interest in the program.

Davis and his coaching team have yet to secure a commitment for the 2025 class, making Lewis a significant target for them. Securing his commitment would mark a crucial early success in building their recruiting class for the upcoming year.
