Richmond coach Adem Yze has criticized what he describes as “disrespectful” speculation about Shai Bolton potentially leaving the club. However, Yze expressed empathy towards players considering their futures mid-season.
Yze reiterated his stance that he would select players who have informed him of their intention to depart the club. He also endorsed the NRL’s approach to player movement transparency, echoing comments he made earlier in the week.
Meanwhile, Richmond star Dustin Martin, dealing with a back injury that rules him out of Sunday’s game against GWS, is contemplating his future at the club, alongside West Australian free agent Liam Baker.
Yze acknowledged the public interest in players whose contracts are ending but expressed disappointment in reports regarding Bolton, who still has four years remaining on his current contract.
