Archie Grey, a young player for Leeds United, is very close to joining Tottenham, while Joe Rodon is moving to Elland Road in a different deal, according to football.london.

The talented 18-year-old Leeds player, who made 50 appearances for the Championship team last season as a right-back and central midfielder, was expected to sign with Brentford. Grey was eager to join Thomas Frank’s team and could perhaps play regularly in the Premier League. Spurs intervened and started talks on a deal that is anticipated to cost between £25 million and £30 million, including Rodon returning to Elland Road, after the Bees and Leeds were unable to come to an agreement on a payment plan.

football.london understands that Rodon is likely to head in the opposite direction to Leeds in what will be announced as a separate deal but will mean a £40million valuation of Gray in all. The 26-year-old Wales international, who is currently in Santa Barbara, California, on a training camp ahead of the new season, is believed to have preferred the return to Elland Road ahead of interest from Premier League sides Ipswich and Leicester City after an impressive loan season that he relished in Yorkshire. Ipswich are understood to have had a £10million offer rejected by Tottenham, with Kieran McKenna a big admirer of the centre-back. Leeds boss Daniel Farke also has plenty of admiration for Spurs midfielder Oliver Skipp following their successful Championship-winning season together.
