Armando Bacot, a former UNC basketball standout, makes his debut on the court in Las Vegas.

On Monday night, Armando Bacot played his second game for the Utah Jazz in the NBA 2K25 Summer League, a disappointing 82-70 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Although Bacot had already seen playing time in earlier tune-up games in Salt Lake City last week, this contest marked his official debut in the ongoing summer league in Las Vegas.

Bacot, a standout from UNC known for his rebounding prowess and double-double performances, was not selected in the NBA draft in late June. However, he secured a tryout opportunity with the Jazz for the Summer League, aiming to impress and potentially earn a spot on their roster for the upcoming NBA season.

In his initial appearance against the Dallas Mavericks, Bacot did not see action. But in the game against the Kings, he played 17 minutes off the bench behind Kyle Filipowski of Duke, another notable rookie. Bacot’s performance included six points, six rebounds, three steals, and one block. He was perfect from the field, shooting 2-for-2, although he struggled slightly at the foul line, making 2-for-4 attempts.
