Kansas Update: Four Former Kansas State Men’s Basketball Players, That Ask For Their Return Back To Kansas State.

Four former Kansas State men’s basketball players are set to participate in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.

Keyontae Johnson, Markquis Nowell, Tylor Perry, and Xavier Sneed are among the participants in the NBA 2K25 Summer League, taking place from Friday, July 12 to Monday, July 22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion in Las Vegas.

Johnson, entering his second professional season starting in 2024-25, will represent the Oklahoma City Thunder, who selected him in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft. Nowell joins the Washington Wizards after beginning his professional career with the Toronto Raptors, while Perry signed an Exhibit-10 deal with the Raptors on June 27. Sneed, who played for Kansas State from 2016 to 2020, will play for the Sacramento Kings.

The Summer League features round-robin games from July 12 to July 19, followed by playoffs on July 20-21 and the championship game on July 22.

Sneed and the Kings kick off their campaign against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, July 12 at 5 p.m. CT on NBA TV Canada. Nowell and the Wizards face the Atlanta Hawks at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN the same day. Johnson and the Thunder begin their games against Perry and the Raptors on Saturday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m. CT on NBA TV.

Nowell and the Wizards continue against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, July 14 at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN2, while Perry and the Raptors play the Denver Nuggets at 8:30 p.m. CT on NBA TV.

Both Johnson and Sneed will play on Monday, July 15 on ESPNU, with the Thunder taking on the Heat at 5 p.m. CT and the Kings facing the Jazz at 9 p.m. CT.

Johnson, who earned All-American honors during his single season at K-State in 2022-23, recently contributed to the Oklahoma City Blue’s G-League title win in April, averaging 19.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

Nowell, after playing 13 games for the Raptors 905 in the G-League, averaged 13.8 points, 7.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game before an injury ended his 2023-24 season early.

Perry, recognized with All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in his sole season at K-State, led the Wildcats in scoring with 519 points.

Sneed, who competed for Brindisi in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A, showcased his skills with the Kings during the California Classic Summer League, averaging 15.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game across three matches.
