According to sources, West Ham United is interested in signing N’Golo Kante, a legend from Chelsea, from the Saudi Arabian team Al Ittihad.
After his contract with the Blues expired last summer, Kante, 33, signed on a free move to Al Ittihad.
In addition to winning two Premier League titles while playing for Chelsea and Leicester City, he has also won the FA Cup, the Champions League, the Europa League, and the World Cup with France. He has pretty much won everything in football.
The Frenchman has established himself as one of the greatest defensive midfielders of all time, and his career has been nothing short of spectacular.
Kante’s departure from Chelsea seemed to be the end of his English career, but after playing for the Blues for seven years in the city, he is rumoured to be returning.
In any case, The Guardian reports that West Ham has initiated “talks” to sign Kante this summer, as new head coach Julen Lopetegui is a “long-time admirer.”
According to reports, Kante is amenable to the transfer as both parties have “willingness” to see a transaction through to completion. That’s just conjecture on our part.
The Hammers have shown interest in him after he demonstrated at Euro 2024 that he is still a top-tier midfield player for France. They “will need to pay around £20m” to acquire him.
The story continues by stating that Lopetegui is looking to add a new defensive midfielder as Kalvin Phillips’ disastrous Manchester City loan came to an end.
Dharmesh Sheth, a journalist for Sky Sports, has reported that there have been “initial soundings” between West Ham and  Al Ittihad.
