Gary Ross has been brought on board to both rewrite and direct the upcoming film Old Time Hockey.
Four-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross, known for his work writing and directing acclaimed films such as Seabiscuit, Pleasantville, The Hunger Games, and Ocean’s 8, has been enlisted to direct and revise the script for Old Time Hockey, originally penned by Kevin Jakubowski (known for School of Rock and 8-Bit Christmas). The film is set to be produced by Skydance Sports and Jeremy Latcham.
The original screenplay is situated in the rust belt of Pennsylvania and revolves around a high school hockey rivalry from the mid-1990s that reignites 25 years later.
Skydance Sports, launched in 2021, has swiftly established itself as a leading studio for sports-related entertainment, catering to leagues, teams, elite athletes, and A-list Hollywood talent. Their initial projects include the Emmy-nominated docuseries Good Rivals and the critically acclaimed feature film Air, both available for streaming on Prime Video.
