Arkansas football defensive end Landon Jackson acknowledges the importance of consistency heading into the 2024 season.

Landon Jackson of Arkansas football is generating significant buzz as he heads into his senior season, largely fueled by his standout performance in 2023.

The 6-foot-7 defensive end had a career day in mid-October against Alabama, recording personal highs of 11 tackles and 3.5 sacks despite Arkansas’ loss. These numbers represented a quarter of his total tackles and more than half of his sacks for the entire season.

Jackson returned to Arkansas for his senior year with the goal of boosting his NFL draft stock and improving the team’s fortunes following a disappointing 4-8 season.

Looking ahead to 2024, Jackson acknowledges the need for greater consistency. “I had a good game, but I need to replicate that performance throughout the season and have more games like that to reach my potential,” he stated during the 2024 SEC Media Days.

In 2023, Jackson’s sack against Alabama was his lone SEC game with a sack, and he ranked 12th in the conference with 6.5 sacks overall. He also went three SEC games without a tackle for loss.

Despite these challenges, Jackson earned First-Team All-SEC honors and is considered a top-40 prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Regarded as one of the top defensive linemen in the country when he signed with LSU in 2021, Jackson transferred to Arkansas after one season. With his imposing size, explosive athleticism, adept block shedding, and effective pass rush techniques, Jackson epitomizes the SEC defensive end prototype and is respected as a team leader.

While Jackson’s impact often transcends his individual statistics, Arkansas is counting on him to match his talent with consistent production. Jackson recognizes that this collective mindset applies to the entire team.

“It’s not just on one person, or the coach, offense, or defense. It’s about the entire team,” Jackson emphasized. “We all know we could have been better last year, and many of us have accepted that challenge to improve.”
