Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared an enthusiastic post on “X” about Bobby Witt Jr.

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for their attempt to win a third consecutive Super Bowl this season, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is keeping an eye on baseball while in training camp.

Mahomes, a former baseball player and part-owner of the Kansas City Royals, recently shared on “X” about the impressive performance of Royals star Bobby Witt Jr.

Mahomes also reposted a Royals video praising Witt Jr. as the “hottest bat in the universe.”

The Royals’ claim is well-supported, with Witt Jr. tallying 12 hits in the four games since the All-Star break. He nearly hit for the cycle in Monday’s victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, missing it by just a single.

Mahomes has a strong connection to baseball, having acquired a partial ownership stake in the Royals in 2020. His father, Pat Mahomes, pitched in over 300 MLB games and reached the NLCS with the New York Mets in 1999.

Patrick himself was a baseball prospect, drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2014 MLB Draft. However, he chose to attend college and pursue football at Texas Tech instead.
