Television and kickoff details revealed for three Oklahoma football games

ESPN announced the television and kickoff details for three Oklahoma football games in 2024, including the Allstate Red River Rivalry against Texas. The game on September 7 against Houston at home will start at 6:45 p.m. CT and be broadcast on the SEC Network. The following week, on September 14, Oklahoma’s home game against Tulane will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT, with coverage on either ESPN or ESPN2.

The highly anticipated October 12 matchup between the Sooners and Texas at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT and be shown on either ABC or ESPN. In the past 13 seasons, this game has only started at 2:30 p.m. CT once, in 2017, when Oklahoma won 29-24.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Oklahoma’s season opener against Temple has been rescheduled to Friday, August 30, with kickoff at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Oklahoma leads the series against Houston 3-1 and will face the Cougars for the first time since a 49-31 victory in the 2019 opener. The Sooners are 2-0 against Tulane, having defeated them 56-14 in 2017 and 40-35 in 2021, both at home. Against Texas, Oklahoma has won 11 of the last 15 matchups and 17 of the last 25, holding a 30-21-3 record since 1971.

This year introduces a new SEC scheduling format across ESPN platforms, providing approximate start times for the entire season. Television windows (Early, Afternoon, or Night) for remaining SEC games will be announced on June 11, with some games marked as “Flex” for either Afternoon or Night slots. The SEC Now: Inside the 2024 Schedule will premiere at 1 p.m. CT on June 11 to review the full schedule, with a re-air at 7 p.m. following The Paul Finebaum Show.

Each SEC school will also feature one non-conference game on the ESPN+/SEC Network+ digital platform. Details for the remaining games will be released on June 11.

The SEC Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, at 3 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast on ABC for the first time since 2000.

2024 OU football ticket mini plans are now available for season ticket holders. The Crimson Mini Plan includes games against Temple, Tulane, Maine, and Alabama, while the Cream Mini Plan covers the Houston, Tennessee, and South Carolina games. Non-season ticket holders interested in tickets should join the waitlist for mini plans or single-game tickets, which will be available later this summer.
