New York Yankees Targeting Several Cincinnati Reds Veterans Before Trade Deadline.

The MLB trade deadline is fast approaching, and the New York Yankees are reportedly interested in several veterans from the Cincinnati Reds.

Sports Illustrated’s Pat Ragazzo was the first to note that New York is considering a few Reds relievers, mentioning that Cincinnati sent scouts to observe the Yankees during their series against the Rays earlier this month.

Potential bullpen targets for the Yankees include Nick Martinez, Lucas Sims, and even Alexis Diaz.

Additionally, New York may be interested in former National League Rookie of the Year Jonathan India. Jon Morosi of MLB Network has indicated that India’s trade value has risen this season, and several teams, including the Yankees, have shown interest.

The MLB trade deadline is set for Tuesday, July 30, at 6 p.m. ET, with the Reds facing the Cubs that evening at 7:10 p.m. ET at Great American Ballpark. While the Reds may choose to stay put, it would be somewhat surprising if they didn’t make a move before the deadline.
