Milwaukee Bucks Set to Sign New Center.

Anzejs Pasecniks last played in the NBA during the 2020-21 season as a member of the Washington Wizards.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Pasecniks is set to sign a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. According to Wojnarowski: “Free agent center Anzejs Pasecniks is signing a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, his agent @ArtursKalnitis of @BsaAgency tells ESPN. The Latvian 7-footer played parts of two NBA seasons with Washington.”

Pasecniks was selected 25th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft and has spent parts of two seasons in the league, all with Washington. His career averages are 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, shooting 52.1% from the field across 28 regular season appearances.

Blake Stern added, “The former first-rounder, Pasecniks, returns to the league to provide Milwaukee with some big man depth. They will need to waive one of their two-way players (Stanley Umude, Ryan Rollins, or Jaylin Galloway), and I expect Galloway to be the one released, allowing him to return to Australia.”

The Bucks are among the top teams in the NBA, featuring stars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Last season, they finished third in the Eastern Conference with a 49-33 record. However, the team faced injury challenges and was eliminated in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs by Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers. Nevertheless, they remain a strong contender heading into the 2024-25 NBA season.
