Steelers re-sign Markus Golden.
The Steelers announced on Thursday that they have signed Golden to a one-year contract, with no additional terms disclosed. In a related move, linebacker David Perales was waived.
Golden, who played for the Steelers last season, appeared in 17 games, including their playoff defeat to the Bills, recording 23 tackles, five sacks, and a fumble recovery.
He began his career with the Cardinals in 2015 and returned to Arizona in 2020 after spending over a year with the Giants. Golden has accumulated 51 career sacks.
With T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith as Pittsburgh’s top edge rushers, Golden’s signing indicates the team is looking to increase competition for backup roles among Nick Herbig, Kyron Johnson, and Jeremiah Moon.
