Top 2026 quarterback Faizon Brandon pledges his commitment to Tennessee.

Quarterback Faizon Brandon, the top prospect in the Class of 2026, pledged his commitment to Tennessee on Saturday. Ranked as the No. 1 player in his class by 247Sports, Brandon chose the Volunteers over Alabama, LSU, and N.C. State. He shared with GoVols247 that he had been leaning toward Tennessee for several months. “Every time I visited, it felt like I was building new relationships,” Brandon said. “On my most recent trip, I felt I had strong connections with players on both sides of the ball. You don’t find that everywhere, where you can discuss anything with anyone on both sides of the game.” Brandon also highlighted the significance of having Volunteers head coach Josh Heupel and quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle, both former quarterbacks themselves, involved in his recruitment. “Coach Heupel understands what it takes to be a great quarterback and how to teach them,” Brandon noted. “With Coach Joey also having played quarterback, I feel they know how to develop me into a great player and understand what quarterbacks need in terms of coaching.” He announced his commitment during a ceremony at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C., which was live-streamed on 247Sports’ YouTube channel. The 6-foot-4 quarterback completed 69 percent of his passes last season, leading Grimsley to a 13-1 record as a sophomore. He threw for 3,026 yards and 36 touchdowns with only three interceptions, while also rushing for 528 yards and nine touchdowns. –Field Level Media
