The last start for Almiron came on 11 March 2024 in the 3-2 defeat at Chelsea

and whilst he had injury problems, when available later in the season, Miguel

Almiron found himself unable to get a game due to Jacob Murphy getting preference from Eddie Howe.

Right wing looks like the position that by far could have serious money spent on it this summer for a new first-eleven

signing. Yankuba Minteh sold for £33m on Sunday to Brighton and Miguel Almiron is very likely to follow the 19-

year-old out of the club, with I assume that now a new signing will arrive, with

then Jacob Murphy looking set to remain as cover on that side of the pitch

It was heavily rumoured in January that Miguel Almiron could make a move then, with even claims (see below) that a move to Al-Shabab had been provisionally agreed. However, nothing happened then.

Now Keith Downie, who covers Newcastle United for Sky Sports, says in an exclusive that talks are now happening between NUFC and a so far unnamed Saudi Pro-League club, with the Paraguayan winger set to leave after five and a half years at the club.

Miguel Almiron still has two years left on his Newcastle United contract but has now turned 30 and with the Saudi transfer window opening today, a deal could swiftly be agreed.
