Since being drafted by the New England Patriots, Garoppolo has found himself in situations where he starts as the main quarterback but gets replaced at some point. He was substituted after joining the San Francisco 49ers as the projected
starter. Then he moved to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he found himself benched in favor of rookie Aidan O’Connell.
He is currently with the Los Angeles Rams, and despite being labeled as the backup quarterback, he is very content.
In previous seasons, he played for San Francisco and reached the Super Bowl once, making it to one of the NFC finals. However, in his final season with the
Raiders, he only played seven games. Matthew Stafford, who led the team to the title in 2022, is waiting for him in Los Angeles.
His previous stops include playing in New England under head coach Bill Belichick, in San Francisco under Kyle Shanahan, and in Las Vegas first under
Josh McDaniels and then under Antonio Pierce. Garoppolo admitted that his inconsistent career has taken a toll on him.
Many analysts predict that Jimmy G will likely have the opportunity to play during the season due to Stafford’s tendency to get injured. Additionally,
Sean McVay will probably play a significant role in helping Garoppolo adapt to the Rams’ play system.”
At the start of the season, Garoppolo will serve a two-game suspension for violating the NFL performance-
enhancing substance policy. He’ll return to the active roster in Week 3, aiming to resume his career as a backup.
