Danny Stutsman has been included on the Lombardi Award watch list.

The watch list season continues, and Danny Stutsman has added yet another accolade to his growing collection of preseason honors. The senior linebacker has now been named to the Lombardi Award watch list. According to the Lombardi Award website, this esteemed accolade recognizes the top college football lineman, whether on offense or defense, who exemplifies exceptional performance, skill, and the character and discipline championed by Vince Lombardi.

Heading into the 2024 season, Stutsman is regarded as one of the top off-ball linebackers in college football. He has already been named to the USA TODAY Sports, CBS Sports, and ESPN All-American teams, was a first-team All-SEC selection by the media, and has been featured on the Butkus, Bednarik, Nagurski, and Walter Camp Player of the Year watch lists. Additionally, ESPN recently ranked him as the No. 32 player in the country in their top 100 players list.

The Lombardi Award has previously been awarded to three Sooners: Lee Roy Selmon in 1975, Tony Casillas in 1985, and Tommie Harris in 2003. Only Ohio State, Nebraska, and Notre Dame have more Lombardi Award winners than Oklahoma.
