EJ Smith was always meant to wear the Maroon and White. It just took four years to land him in College Station for good.
Smith, the son of Hall of Fame running back Emmit Smith, officially committed to Texas A&M on Sunday after beginning his career at Stanford. Smith will have two years of eligibility remaining under first-year coach Mike Elko.
Smith initially was drawn to the Aggies throughout the recruiting process coming out of Dallas Jesuit as a four-star prospect. Instead, he elected to head out west, joining forces with David Shaw as the hopeful bell-cow runner in Palo Alto.
