Indiana quarterback Dexter Williams II entered the transfer portal on Sunday,
joining Brendan Sorsby as the second quarterback to do so after Indiana fired Tom Allen on Sunday.
Williams did not play during 2023 season due a torn ACL he suffered in the 2022 season finale against Purdue. Allen said
on Nov. 6 that Williams was ready to play if needed, but Indiana was committed to starting Sorsby at that point.
After Indiana benched quarterback Connor Bazelak and Jack Tuttle suffered
and injury, Williams was thrust into a starting role late in the 2022 season. He appeared in four games, including a road
trip to Ohio State on Nov. 12, when he completed 6-of-19 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Williams made his first-career start at Michigan State on Nov. 19. While still
undeveloped as a passer, Williams’ rushing ability frustrated defense in his limited playing time. The 6-foot-1, 200-
pound quarterback ran for 86 yards and a touchdown, leading the Hoosiers to a 39-31 double-overtime win at Michigan State.
