Nick Mason Imagines Using AI to Create New Pink Floyd Music.
Nick Mason recently talked about the potential of using artificial intelligence to create new Pink Floyd music. He suggested that AI could help bypass the ongoing feud between band members David Gilmour and Roger Waters, allowing for the recording of fresh material.
In an interview with The Daily Mirror, the drummer acknowledged that a reunion among the surviving members is unlikely but expressed interest in exploring AI for this purpose.
“It would be intriguing to see what AI could produce for new music. Imagine a scenario where we explore ‘Where did Pink Floyd go after?’” Mason remarked. “The goal would be to create an AI environment where David and Roger reconcile, allowing us to be like ABBA by the end.”
The band’s most successful lineup fractured in 1985 when Waters left and attempted to stop his former bandmates from continuing without him, and the tensions between Waters and Gilmour have yet to be fully resolved.
