Colts Add Former Patriots Super Bowl DE Amid Several Roster Changes.
The Indianapolis Colts (1-2) have made several roster changes to their practice squad ahead of an important home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0).
Cornerback Kelvin Joseph, who was briefly on the Colts’ practice squad, is now looking for a new opportunity as a free agent. Meanwhile, quarterback Jason Bean, known for his strong preseason performance, has been placed on the Practice Squad Injured List.
To fill these two openings, the Colts have signed defensive tackle Josiah Bronson and defensive end Derek Rivers. Bronson has previously played for the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins, appearing in eight games and recording 12 tackles (one for loss).
Rivers was a third-round draft pick by the New England Patriots in 2017 and has had stints with the Colts, Los Angeles Rams, and Houston Texans. Despite battling injuries, he was part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl LIII championship team and has accumulated 3.5 sacks, 16 tackles (five for loss), and played in 24 games throughout his career.
As the Colts prepare for their matchup against the undefeated Steelers in less than a week, it remains to be seen if they will make any additional roster moves.
