Simone Biles is launching a restaurant at Houston’s biggest airport.
After grabbing a meal at Simone Biles’ new restaurant, you can also catch a flight. The renowned gymnast is entering the food scene with Taste of Gold, a new eatery set to open soon at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
According to the airport, the restaurant will feature a “chef-crafted” menu reflecting Biles’ impressive global achievements. An initial press release hinted at “vibrant, bold flavors of elevated Tex-Mex cuisine,” but local news outlet KHOU mentioned that the final cuisine details are still being worked out.
The restaurant is slated to open in the first quarter of 2025, located in Terminal A near Gate A8. Houston’s largest airport welcomed 46.1 million passengers in 2023 and is recognized as one of the Top 10 World’s Best Airport Dining Experiences in 2024.
**Additional Details About Taste of Gold:**
Biles, originally from Columbus, Ohio, was raised in a Houston suburb by her grandparents. Known for her love of margaritas, mojitos, and mimosas, she may incorporate these into her restaurant’s offerings.
Taste of Gold will feature signature food and beverage items created by restaurant innovator Mark Brezinski, with operations managed by SSP America, a company specializing in airport concessions.
“I am thrilled to partner with The Playmakers Group and their dedicated team to bring a new restaurant to my hometown airport,” Biles expressed. “As a foodie at heart, I hope Taste of Gold provides a wonderful dining experience with award-winning menu items and some of my favorite flavors for our guests.”
Francisco Cuellar, Chief Commercial Development Officer for Houston Airports, added, “We share the inspiration that Simone Biles brings to millions around the world as we redefine dining at the airport.”
