Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook exits game due to injury against Auburn football.
Missouri quarterback Brady Cook was replaced in the first quarter of the Tigers’ game against Auburn after sustaining an ankle injury, as reported by ESPN’s Taylor McGregor. Cook left the game following Missouri’s opening series and was replaced by Drew Pyne for the second series.
Prior to his exit, Cook completed 3 of 4 passes for 37 yards and had three rushing attempts for a net loss of 6 yards. At the time of Cook’s departure, Missouri led Auburn 3-0 with 6:55 remaining in the first quarter. Cook did not return during the first half.
At halftime, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz said on the team’s radio broadcast, “We have to find some offensive rhythm with Drew, and that’s what we’re going to do in the second half.” Despite this, radio broadcaster Chris Gervino reported at the start of the second half that Cook was “doubtful” to return.
Missouri, ranked No. 19 in the AP poll, entered the game with a 5-1 overall record and 1-1 in SEC play. Auburn came into the matchup with a 2-4 overall record and 0-3 in SEC play.
