The Michigan Wolverines’ five-star offensive lineman Andrew Babalola has been suspended following an inappropriate speech about the management.

Michigan football expected to secure top SEC recruit.

After securing five-star offensive lineman Andrew Babalola, the Michigan Wolverines are gaining momentum in their recruiting efforts. Despite their 4-3 record this season, Michigan is making strides on the recruiting front, and things may continue to improve.

On Thursday night, Sam Webb from The Michigan Insider on 247Sports made a Crystal Ball Prediction favoring the Wolverines to flip Georgia commit Shamari Earls. The 6-foot-2 cornerback from Chester, VA, originally committed to South Carolina before switching to Georgia on July 7. Although Michigan had initially aimed to recruit Earls from South Carolina, the Bulldogs succeeded in securing his commitment.

However, Michigan hasn’t given up and is back in contention. On3’s National Recruiting Analyst, Steve Wiltfong, reported that Earls will visit Ann Arbor this weekend for an unofficial trip to watch Michigan play Michigan State. According to the 247Sports Composite, Earls is a four-star recruit and ranks 88th in the 2025 class, while On3 and 247Sports have him listed as the top player in Virginia.

With the Wolverines needing to strengthen their secondary after seven games this season, especially with Will Johnson departing next year, bringing in elite cornerbacks would greatly benefit the team. Currently, Michigan has the No. 14 recruiting class in the country according to the Composite rankings.
