Oklahoma Sooners gaining momentum for 2026 4-star running back following three predictions.

The Oklahoma Sooners are trending toward adding another blue-chip prospect to their 2026 recruiting class, and it’s a familiar name. Four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, a former Oklahoma commit, is once again leaning toward the Sooners, according to multiple Rivals FutureCasts issued Sunday night.

Shortly after Hatton announced his upcoming college decision, analysts Sam Spiegleman of Rivals, along with Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm of OUInsider and Rivals, each projected the Sooners as the frontrunner in his recruitment.

Hatton originally became Oklahoma’s first commitment of the 2026 cycle in October 2023 but later decommitted amid the Sooners’ struggles in their first SEC season. Since reopening his recruitment, he has drawn interest from top programs like Alabama, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Tennessee, holding a total of 29 Power Four offers.

With the latest FutureCasts coming less than a week before his decision, it appears Hatton and the Sooners have reestablished the connection that made him a priority target initially. A consensus four-star talent and a top-10 running back in the 2026 class, Hatton is ranked as a top-75 national prospect and a top-five running back by On3 and ESPN.

Now, Oklahoma hopes to secure Hatton’s commitment once again.
