Jayson Tatum Sends a Message to Haters Through Michael Jordan’s Brand After 2024 Championship Victory.

Jayson Tatum has finally become a champion. Despite being just 26, he faced heavy criticism throughout the regular season, even as the Boston Celtics held the league’s best record. This criticism continued into the playoffs. After securing the championship by defeating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5, Tatum addressed his critics with a message through Michael Jordan’s brand.

In a statement released by the Jordan Brand, Tatum expressed his gratitude to his detractors, saying, “They’ve had a lot to say. That I don’t have what it takes. That I’m not the one. That I can’t lead, can’t close, can’t win it all. Well, maybe now they’ll be quiet. Or maybe, it’s best they don’t.”

Jumpman’s official Instagram post stated, “NBA Champion @jaytatum0 wants to thank all the haters. Keep it coming.

Even with Boston’s achievements, Tatum has been closely scrutinized. Many criticized him for not delivering peak performances throughout the season, even though he scored 31 points in Game 3 but was critiqued for scoring under 20 in the others. While Jalen Brunson won the 2024 Finals MVP, Tatum was also pivotal in the Celtics’ success.

Jayson Tatum celebrates his win with Jordan Brand
Tatum has reached the Finals twice and the Eastern Conference Finals five times. Now, he is finally at the “top of the mountain,” fittingly with Jumpman. His association with the brand dates back to 2019, the same year Rui Hachimura joined.

In 2023, the brand launched Tatum’s first signature shoe, Tatum 1. By 2024, he had established himself as the brand’s face, launching his second signature shoe, Tatum 2s. Reflecting on his journey, Tatum told Boardroom, “I still can’t believe I got my first signature shoe. Now, having my second, the inner kid in me is thrilled because I’m living my dream in real time.”
