Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has opted to skip the 2024 NFL draft and instead return for his senior season, as revealed in his Instagram announcement on Thursday.
In expressing his decision, Egbuka stated, “During my time at Ohio State, I have experienced significant growth and learning beyond my expectations. Over the past few weeks, through prayer and seeking guidance, I believe the path laid out by the Lord has become clear to me.”
Egbuka has been a highly productive receiver nationally over the last two years, amassing 515 receiving yards this season and an impressive 1,151 yards as a sophomore in 2022.
His Ohio State career thus far boasts 124 catches, 1,857 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns, 10 of which were scored in 2022.
Noteworthy for his outstanding sophomore season, Egbuka, playing alongside Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. in an offense led by C.J. Stroud, delivered six 100-yard performances in just 13 games. These included a remarkable 125 yards and a touchdown in the regular-season finale against Michigan and 112 yards and a touchdown in a heartbreaking loss to Georgia in the semifinals.
Egbuka was poised to be a probable day-two selection in the 2024 draft, ranking as the No. 8 receiver and No. 39 overall prospect on PFF’s Big Board.
