Tight end Miles Kitselman from Alabama has decided to make a transition to the Tennessee football team after expressing his commitment to the Vols during a recent weekend visit. Kitselman entered the transfer portal on January 3, a choice made following Alabama’s loss in the CFP semifinal but before Coach Nick Saban’s retirement announcement.
Originally from Lyndon, Kansas, Kitselman played in 19 games over the past two seasons with Alabama, primarily contributing to special teams. Before joining the Crimson Tide, he spent a season at Hutchinson Community College.
At a height of 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 250 pounds, Kitselman specializes as a blocking tight end. His recent on-field performance includes two catches for 18 yards in 2022 and no catches in 2023.
The upcoming clash between Alabama and Tennessee on October 19 adds an interesting dimension to Kitselman’s transfer, as he faces his former team.
Kitselman’s addition to the Tennessee roster comes at a crucial time, filling a gap left by the departure of tight ends Jacob Warren and McCallan Castles, who are no longer eligible.
Competition for the tight end position at Tennessee is intensifying, with Notre Dame transfer Holden Staes and former four-star prospect Ethan Davis emerging as frontrunners.
