With their first pick in the UFL College Draft, the Arlington Renegades selected QB John Rhys Plumlee – who is currently

a Pittsburgh Steeler. Rhys Plumlee began his college career at Ole Miss, but was primarily a backup for his final two years there.

Arlington has had success with Rookie Draft selections in the past – but most of them haven’t been their own. HC Bob

Stoops and GM Rick Mueller ended up targeting a couple of Rookie Draft picks from Houston during the Dispersal Draft,

picking up Lindsey Scott Jr. and Marcus Minor.

In the UFL College Draft, the Renegades didn’t draft any free agents. All ten

players are rostered with an NFL organization at the moment.

In 2022, John made his way over to UCF. He started in 22 of his final 23 games,

throwing for over 4,800 yards and 29 touchdowns, to 16 interceptions. Plumlee can also use his legs to make plays,

rushing for 2,550 yards throughout his collegiate career. With the uncertainty at the QB position for Arlington heading

towards 2025, Rhys Plumlee would be an intriguing addition if he becomes available.

|played at Florida for a few years, with 40 appearances at the school. The Gators were 28-12 in games that Griffin

participated in. Griffin transferred to Tennessee-Chattanooga for his final year of eligibility, starting all 13 games at left

tackle. He has since signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an UDFA.

Arlington’s offensive line played quite well in 2024, but Griffin is the type of

prospect who could land on the roster within the next couple of year
