Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson was noncommittal about his future with the team beyond this season when speaking to reporters Saturday before the Rose Bowl.

“I’ve really just been focused on Michigan and what they’ve been doing,” Simpson said. “A bunch of people I’m sure are
wondering whether I’m going to transfer or not. But I’m not really just focused on that. I don’t want that to distract me from when

Simpson spent an hour answering questions in Pasadena as part of the Rose Bowl’s mandatory media day for all players, marking his first public comments since s
igning with Alabama in December 2021 as five-star quarterback in the 2022 high school class. Simpson was not allowed to speak to reporters as a freshman under
Nick Saban’s rules and had not yet been made available this season.
