Leicester City has not yet submitted a proposal to Inter Milan for the acquisition of an Italian midfielder. There is a possibility that the player might join the team through a free transfer in June.
According to reports from the Italian news outlet FCInterNews, Leicester City may choose to delay making an offer for the 28-year-old midfielder until the conclusion of the season, allowing them to secure his services on a free transfer. The player in question is Sensi, a former Sassuolo midfielder, and Leicester’s interest is primarily driven by their coach Enzo Maresca.
Enzo Maresca, who assumed the managerial role for Leicester last summer following their relegation from the Premier League, has been instrumental in the team’s success as they currently lead the English second division. Maresca, a former assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, is molding Leicester to play in his preferred style.
Sensi, an Italian international, is seen by Maresca as a player who would seamlessly fit into his tactical approach. Sensi moved to Inter from Sassuolo in 2019, but injuries have hindered his consistent participation. He has also had loan spells with clubs like Sampdoria and Monza. Despite being back at Inter since last summer, Sensi has struggled to secure regular playing time, not making a single start this season despite being mostly fit.
