Coco Gauff Shares Her Top Restaurant and Describes It as the ‘Most American Thing.
In a recent Tennis Channel video, several tennis players shared their thoughts on what they consider the ‘Most American thing,’ leading to a variety of intriguing responses. Coco Gauff, when asked, mentioned her favorite restaurant that she misses while traveling.
Gauff cited Chick-fil-A as her top choice, describing it as a uniquely American experience that isn’t available elsewhere. She noted that Chick-fil-A, along with staples like burgers, fries, and iced Coke, represents authentic American culture. Given her preference for these foods, it’s clear why Chick-fil-A holds a special place in her life.
Although Chick-fil-A originated in the U.S., its restaurants are now found around the world. Headquartered in Georgia, the chain operates 3,059 locations, including in the District of Columbia. Even Cincinnati, where the ATP Masters 1000 tournament is currently taking place, has a Chick-fil-A branch for players to visit.
Other players mentioned baseball and low air conditioner settings as quintessentially American, but when it came to food, most opted for fries and burgers.
Taylor Fritz echoed a similar sentiment to Gauff but favored Chipotle instead of Chick-fil-A. Chipotle, which specializes in bowls and tacos rather than burgers and fries, also has around 3,500 locations. Fritz considers it a staple of American cuisine, a view shared by Polish tennis star and current world number 1, Iga Swiatek, who said that visiting Chipotle is one of her first activities when she arrives in the U.S.
In the end, athletes, like everyone else, have their cravings. While they must maintain strict fitness regimens, they also enjoy indulging in their favorite foods from time to time.
