Arsenal is rumored to be targeting a promising young attacking talent from La Liga, aiming to strengthen their offensive lineup this season, which has fallen short of expectations thus far.
While a dedicated center-forward is likely the primary focus, Arsenal also sees the need for additional coverage for players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
According to The Sun, Arsenal is keeping a close eye on Real Sociedad’s Ander Barrenetxea, with their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur also showing interest. Scouts from both teams reportedly attended Barrenetxea’s Copa del Rey match against Osasuna on Wednesday.
The report suggests that Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, views Barrenetxea as a “top target” due to his versatility, capable of playing on both flanks and at right-back. Additionally, Arteta, who spent a season with Sociedad from 2004-05, still maintains a strong relationship with the club.
