There is a recommendation for the Steelers to consider trading T.J. Watt.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a 1-11 record when superstar edge rusher T.J. Watt is not on the field. However, amidst the team’s anticipated offseason changes, one analyst suggests including the All-Pro in those adjustments. Ron Cook, a columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, proposed on his 93.7 The Fan show that trading Watt during the offseason could enhance the team’s overall roster.
Cook expressed his viewpoint, stating, “If you don’t see them as a legitimate Super Bowl contender right now, and I don’t, I would consider trading T.J. Watt. I don’t think they will because I think they always see themselves as a Super Bowl contender, even though they haven’t won a playoff game in seven years. But would it be outrageous to consider that possibility?”
Despite ongoing challenges, including uncertainty at the quarterback position and the mid-season firing of their offensive coordinator, the Steelers consistently perceive themselves as Super Bowl contenders. With the expectation of resolving these issues during the offseason, they likely anticipate even higher expectations for the upcoming season.
